I admit that my score may seem a bit extreme, but I'm one of those strange people who believe 5 should be average! All these 9's meaning quite good just confuses me to be honest, whatever happened to moderation?

I wouldn't mind FFVIII being remade, but without any voice acting if at all possible, God they can cast good voice actors for new characters but when Square-Enix retroactively voice them, its almost always terrible.

Isn't the conclusion of the game the disillusionment of the idea of America and loyalty to country's and such of Naked Snake, a really good advertisement for anti-nationalism? I realize there were conflicting themes and dialogs coming from The Boss via EVA and Snakes reaction to the whole affair but I thought that message was pretty (pardon the pun) solid.

For crying out loud, not everything links to FFVII. I still can't believe people thought the blonde haired Shiva-Motorbike guy was Cloud. FFXIII is a complelty new story with new themes, locations, battle systems, narratives and charecters. Enough with the VII worship, you have FFVII, AC, BC, CC and DC for heavens sake! What more do you want?

I for one, have noticed that in my entire game collection (of at least 40 games) ONE is American (Uncharted), all of the others are Japanese, Canadian or European.
I don't think theres anything wrong with American games and I know I must have missed some good ones, but I personally do...

Well regarding the Pope, he advises that birth control is a bad thing and blocks sex education in many African countries. This leads to a lot of people having too many kids and just making their situation a lot worse.
A lot of churches and other religious and non-religious charitys and NFP organisations do a lot of good, but the pope himself seems a whole other kettle of fish IMO.
Religion should be kept out of almost everything. When anything has a hand in too many pies it almost always slides towards some sort of fascism/authoritarianism, like Communist Dictatorships, Muslims/Jewish/Christian Theocracys, Neoconservative/Liberal Corporatist states, etc.
You can believe what you wish, but I find it disturbing that policies regularaly fly in the face of rational thought in order to satisfy some ancient text.

You're half right, I also believe we have to engineer out the bad qualities within us and emphasize the humane, however we are naturally alturistic as well as hurtful. It goes back to humans being a social animal that does whats good for the herd, sometimes with little immediate personal benefit, we can be naturally good sometimes.

I don't understand why a lot of people are so mad over this. 8 is a good score, its not super-amazing, but remember reviews are subjective. 8/10 is probably a good score for people who aern't really into the MGS saga, they'll probably really enjoy it but it won't send them into spasms of joy like us MGS fanboys and girls.
Although I wish more reviwers reviewed games that way and didn't get swallowd by hype (Yes I'm looking at you Halo 3 and GTAIV).
I know a lot about nanomachines, I use them in my writing from time to time XD.
But I believe that Kojima had a problem that was hard to rectify. He had all of this stuff going on relating to three different stories and he tried to successfully converge them all at once to make the final chapter and then, to paste over any cracks that would inevitably occur, he uses nanomachines.
I personally think the game would have been better without Vamp, Raiden, Rosemary, Big B...
